ABOUT HYDROHEAL
HydroHeal, how did it all begin?

A combination of design computing and medical science students coming together with one common goal - the 2018 BioDesign Challenge.

As newbies to this global challenge, we were inexperienced and climbing from our gained knowledge from university, however, who knew we would be creating a product that could revolutionise the biomedical field? We certainly didn't.

However, we have come together to create HydroHeal, to be administered into your local clinician within the next 5 -10 years, enhancing the user experience with burn healing and recovery and ensuring a comfortable, and greater user satisfaction for all.

THE TEAM
We are a group of passionate design computing and biomedical engineering and medical science students who came together as a multidisciplinary team to create an innovative product that had the potential to challenge the medical field. Introducing us and introducing HydroHeal.
THE DESIGNERS
Specialising in UX design

CHRISTINE TENG
20, Bachelor of Design Computing 3rd Year
Creating meaningful solutions to real-world issues is a real passion of mine, and design has really opened up the doors to do exactly that. In addition to wireframing on Sketch and drawing in Illustrator, my interests include modern calligraphy, playing the guitar at church, photography and patting my dog Tofu.

GISELLE GRAY
22, Bachelor of Design Computing 3rd Year
Design for me is an integral part of everything. Products and services that are designed with human interaction at their core, create better solutions. Design within medicine specifically is something really interesting to me as I think that often a conversation doesn’t exist, and I believe there is a lot of room for disruption within the industry.

SOOMIN LEE
19, Bachelor of Design Computing 2nd year
Design is an invaluable passion and one that I have the opportunity to experience every day. Having the ability to create and provide solutions to real human needs and making a positive impact through design is something I love and can't imagine not doing for the rest of my life.
THE SCIENTISTS

GRACE CHARLES
21, Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering with Medical Science 3rd Year
One of the reasons I started studying Biomedical Engineering was the idea of combining medicine with other technology/concepts to create a tool that improves patient outcome. Since this is a full-on degree, most of my time is spent studying and reading journal articles. In my spare time, I like to go cafe crawling, bake cakes, explore nature and travel.

DENNIS SYLVESTER
22, Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering with Medical Science 4th Year
As my degree choice highlights, I am extremely passionate about learning and working in the fields of medical health and technology. It has been my long standing ambition to make a real difference in healthcare through novel design and innovation, thereby improving patients’ care and quality of life. My current interests revolve around teaching myself to code in Java, learning Spanish, and following every major sporting league on the planet. In the coming years I plan to be involved in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research, working towards creating a world free from tissue and organ failure.
